how to connect proxy server in mobile

17 / 100 SEO Score

Connecting a proxy server on a mobile device depends on your operating system. Here’s how to do it on Android and iPhone (iOS):

For Android:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Wi-Fi
  3. Tap on the Wi-Fi network you are connected to (hold or click the gear icon).
  4. Tap Modify network
  5. Tap Advanced options
  6. Under Proxy, select Manual
  7. Enter the Proxy hostname and Port
  8. Tap Save

⚠️ Note: This only applies to that specific Wi-Fi network. Mobile data requires root or third-party apps.

For iPhone (iOS):

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Wi-Fi
  3. Tap the (i) icon next to the Wi-Fi you’re connected to
  4. Scroll down to HTTP Proxy
  5. Select Manual
  6. Enter Server (IP or hostname) and Port
  7. (Optional) Add a Username and Password if needed
  8. Go back – the settings save automatically

⚠️ Note: Like Android, iOS only allows proxy settings over Wi-Fi, not mobile data.

🔧 Using a Proxy Over Mobile Data (3G/4G/5G):

To use a proxy for mobile data:

  • VPN-based apps that support proxies (e.g., Shadowsocks, ProxyDroid for rooted Android)
  • Third-party browsers with proxy support (e.g., Opera, Tor)
  • Proxy-enabled apps that allow you to configure SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy internally

Let me know what type of proxy (HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5) you’re using or if you want help with a specific app.
